Die Hard and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are storming theaters. Guns N’ Roses and Debbie Gibson top the musical charts. The Soviet Union withdraws its forces from Afghanistan. Meanwhile, somewhere in Port Townsend in this same year of 1988, a group of friends meets and asks themselves: "What if we could ride our bikes from Port Townsend to the La Push on a dedicated bike trail?" They dreamed. They organized. They built. Today we know their dream as the Olympic Discovery Trail. Thirty-seven years ago, in 1988, these visionaries and volunteers breathed life into the nonprofit Peninsula Trails Coalition (PTC ) to build, maintain, and advocate for the Olympic Discovery Trail. Today, hundreds of thousands of locals, regional and national visitors, as well as international tourists ride, walk, run, roll, and trot along the Olympic Discovery Trail. But the trail is not finished. There’s much more to come. If you’re accustomed to donating to the PTC on Giving Tuesday, I hope that we can count on you this year to help us complete the Olympic Discovery Trail. DONATE <https://olympicdiscoverytrail.us21.list-manage.com/track/click?u=862004159972503fe35fefc93&id=a06f9a945c&e=d7954f414c> During the month of December, the PTC is also kicking of its end of the year appeal. You’ll be hearing more from me in the coming weeks as we reflect on 2025 and plan for 2026. Until then, every dollar you contribute to the PTC on Giving Tuesday will go directly toward our efforts to advocate, maintain, and build the Olympic Discovery Trail.
