JEFFERSON COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
TO: Board of County Commissioners
FROM: Adiel McKnight,Deputy Clerk of the Board
DATE: December 8,2025
SUBJECT: DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION re: 2026 Lodging Tax
Funding Recommendations recalculated from the Lodging Tax
Advisory Committee(LTAC)
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On November 17, 2025 the Board of County Commissioners did not approve all of the Lodging Tax Advisory
Committee(LTAC)Request for Proposal (RFP) funding recommendations for 2026 lodging tax awards. The
LTAC met again on November 26, 2025 to review the BoCC response and to provide comment and response.
ANALYSIS:
Following their November 26, 2025 meeting, the LTAC has now resubmitted recommendations for the 2026
lodging tax fund allocations. In order for 2026 lodging tax funding agreements to be processed in a timely
manner, the Commissioners are asked to review the revised LTAC recommendations and take action to affirm
the 2026 funding amounts, including the revised nineteen(19)award proposals totaling $899,859 plus $5,386
for administrative costs to staff the committee's work in 2026 (based on $5,280 from the 2025 budget,
plus a 2% inflation increase), for a total of$905,245, as detailed in the attached spreadsheet.
FISCAL IMPACT:
See attached spreadsheet. Note: the revised award recommendations would require use of the LTAC fund
reserve in the amount of$5,245.
RECOMMENDATION:
Review the LTAC's response and revised recommendations and consider action to affirm the 2026 lodging tax
fund awards and expenditures as recommended.
