I was made aware of the proposed budget that would close the Rec Center to address a budget gap.
I grew up using this amazing place and I now use it with my 3 YO daughter, including playschool, birthday parties, meeting other families, and much more. There are very few resources
for young children and families in PT now and to do this to hundreds of families would be disastrous and irresponsible.
Are you planning on closing the upstairs portion as well? There are countless support meetings up there of which I attend a few weekly. Would you be closing one of the few facilities
for our community to get support?
There are surely other options to cut spending in the Parks & Rec budget. Can you cut maintenance costs like you do on our road system until you figure out a better solution?
