HOUSING TASK FORCE
Special Meeting — Thursday, May 28, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.
Commissioners' Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse

CALL TO ORDER and INTRODUCTIONS: Chair Morford called the meeting to order at the appointed
time. Also in attendance was Peggy Webster and Renada Prada. Member Nelson joined the meeting at
12:36 p.m.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Morford called for public comments, and one comment was
received.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Clerk Gallaway noted that the minutes need to be corrected to read "Special"
meeting, and the title should read "Housing Task Force," and not "Housing Fund Board." Member
Brotherton moved to approve the minutes of May 15, 2025, with the corrections Clerk Gallaway noted.
Member Smith seconded the motion. The motion carried.
DISCUSSION re: Data and Needs Assessment Review: Member Sonntag and Member Weinstein
shared a presentation that included quantitative data, qualitative data, system coordination, and
addressing internal needs and strengths, external barriers and gaps, compiled needs assessments,
small group input, and previous 2020-2024 5-year homeless plan.
Items for group discussion included: What needs, strengths, barriers, or gaps surprised you or changed
your understanding? How do needs, strengths, barriers, and gaps relate to plan objectives? What
strategies do you see to address needs, barriers and gaps that build on current strengths?What new
capabilities (strengths) are needed to address gaps? What opportunities are there for solving
interconnected challenges?
Chair Morford sought Task Force members to serve on subcommittees to tackle separate objectives.

DISCUSSION re: Regular Meeting dates:
The Housing Task Force members reviewed potential meeting dates as follows:
June 11 at 9:00 a.m.
July 8 at 10:00 a.m.
August 8 at 10:00 a.m.
September 9 at 10:00 a.m.
October 10 at 2:00 p.m.
Member Cochrane moved to approve meeting schedule. Member Howard seconded the motion. Chair
Morford called for public comments on the motion, no comments received. She called for a vote on
the motion. The motion carried.
