HomeMy WebLinkAbout120725 - Public Comment Submission- regarding meeting access and loss of AV Capture recordingsALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them.
Hello Commissioners,
I’m writing because the County’s removal of AV Capture recordings has eliminated the public’s ability to review meetings after they occur. The only way to follow County decisions now
is to attend in person during weekday mornings or join a one-time Zoom session. For people who work standard hours, people with disabilities, and residents who cannot physically attend,
this is a major loss of access.
Other jurisdictions in Washington maintain video archives as a basic transparency practice. Jefferson County used to as well. The change has made it extremely difficult for the public
to track policy discussions, understand decisions, or stay informed about issues that affect their lives.
I’m requesting that the County restore an accessible, permanent meeting archive through AV Capture or an equivalent platform so residents can participate in government in a meaningful
way.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
