I. Description - A brief description of the agenda item.
HEARING NOTICE for the final budget. Hearing to be held on the alternate
budget date of December 6,2010 for the 2011 budget.
ll. Issues - A short outline of the major issues or areas that should be given
particular attention.
RCW 36.40.071 allows the County Commissioners the option of selecting the alternate
date of the first week in December for the public hearings regarding adoption of the 2011
budget.
The Budget Committee reviewed the statutory dates for budget hearings in October and
determined that the alternate date would be more advantageous for the following reasons:
1) The alternate date provides a more realistic budget hearing
2) Revenue shifts month to month and a later date would provide more realistic 2011
budget numbers
3) The desire to involve employees, advisory boards, commissions, etc. in planning
for 2011 budget.
ID. Action - What is the nature of the action the Board is being asked to
take (discussion, approval of a contract. sapport for a grant, etc.).
Approve the hearing notice for the alternate date of December 6, 2010 for the
2011 budget at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Chambers.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that a public hearing is scheduled by the Jefferson County
MONDAY, December 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
Board of Commissioners for in the Commissioners’
Chamber, County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 to consider the
adoption of the 2011 annual budget including the General Fund, Public Works, Special Funds,
and the Jefferson County Road Construction Program.
