Hey friends and leaders on the board-
I just want to throw my name in there about the rec center. Y’all know how important it is to this community… I don’t need to wax on about it. But, I’ve been juggling in that gym and
voluntarily teaching there for almost 20 years now, and I’ve seen countless youth find a safe space, and many many adults find social connection, I believe shuttering will be detrimental
to our youth and our community connections, even if it’s temporary.
And don’t get me started about the rec programming…. That’s beyond necessary to the health of the county.
You are intelligent and compassionate people, there is a way to keep the center open and the programs running. There’s no easy solutions, but we trust and believe in you.
