Hello- I’m curious when options will be shared with the public around the decision-making process to close the Rec Center. I’m also curious about the higher-level administrators and
their salaries that have allowed this situation to exist. Are these being reviewed? As we know, a safety-net facility vs. less than one FTE seems like a more community-minded decision.
I’m sure you’re already aware of how little our community (beyond Parks & Rec) offers youth and families. I’m sure you’re also aware of the fact that Jefferson County has a disconnected
youth rate of 26.6% compared to the National average of 12.6%. Given these ongoing issues, closing the Rec Center will only exacerbate the county’s problems.
Once again, I encourage you to work to bring the community together to find a solution.
