Dear Commissioners,
I’m writing to invite you to spend some time at the Community Recreation Center this evening to see firsthand how the space is being used by our community.
Tonight, from 6:00–7:30 PM, the gym will be full for a community futsal session serving local youth and families. These evenings are about far more than sports, they are a place where
young people build confidence, families connect, and caring adults create safe, positive spaces for kids to belong.
I believe there is real value in seeing this work in action. The energy, relationships, and sense of community that emerge in the Rec Center are difficult to capture in reports or budgets,
but they are deeply felt by the families who rely on these programs week after week.
There is no formal agenda, just an open invitation to stop by, observe, and, if you’d like, visit with families, coaches, and youth who are part of these programs.
