Hi guys,
I am interested in learning if we can change a regulation that is preventing county residents from providing low cost housing.
I have a friend who has a 5-bedroom septic and a 2-bedroom house. It is not currently legal for him to have even two rvs hooked up to his septic. Essentially each rv would count as
2 bedrooms. This make s no sense. If we were to look at rvs as a single satellite bedroom , they then could be connected to the septic and provide housing.
A house with 5 bedrooms could easily have 2 people per bedroom and still be technically legal on a 5 bedroom septic. Yet a 1-bedroom house plus 3 rvs that has a total of 5 people using
the septic is not legal.
Simply calling an RVs a remote or satellite bedroom could change that in a heartbeat and easily provide housing for a great many people .
I would like to know what path we have to follow to seriously consider changing this regulation. I would like to know if there is any possibility of temporarily putting the current
regulation on a moratorium while this question was researched.
I know of at least 7 current arrangements that would benefit and providing housing immediately with this idea. It is not a stretch at all to think that we could create a significant
positive gain in short order with this idea.
Please let me know your thoughts and ideally what path to follow from here to possibly getting this idea looked at with some seriousness
