As the year comes to a close, we’re filled with gratitude for our amazing community—our businesses, volunteers, partners, and supporters who help make Port Townsend such a vibrant and welcoming place. Help keep it vibrant by participating in the Main Street Tax Incentive Program. The first pledge window opens at 8:00am January 12, 2026, giving businesses a powerful way to reinvest state B&O taxes locally through the Port Townsend Main Street Program. Did you know? Seventy-five percent of your pledge returns to you as a B&O tax credit in 2027. Your support helps fund beloved community events, holiday lighting, rain garden care, and exciting new projects like benches in Adams Street Park and a downtown bike shelter. If you are interested in putting your B&O Tax dollars to work, contact us here! <mailto:director@ptmainstreet.org?subject=Tax%20Incentive%20Program> <https://mcusercontent.com/72d728eac0a891fc7cdd75517/_compresseds/f1d58f2e-7c81-9613-dd3d-f89a6bfa6613.jpg> Get Involved with Main Street in 2026! Looking to make a difference in Port Townsend? Main Street offers lots of fun and meaningful ways to get involved in 2026! Join a planning committee and help shape our community—our Promotions Committee meets year-round to plan and bring to life 20+ events each year, while the Design Committee meets quarterly to guide beautification projects in Uptown and Downtown. If you’re savvy with business, lending, or economic development, our Economic Vitality Committee could be a great fit. Short on time? Volunteer with our new Green Team to help care for Uptown and Downtown rain gardens, or lend a hand at one (or many!) of our fantastic community events. Visit our website to explore our annual events and discover the many ways you can get involved—there’s a place for everyone at Main Street! We are busy planning a great slate of events, placemaking projects, ecnomonic engagement, and tourism promotion projects for 2026. As we roll out a new website and refreshed brand we are excited to engage with our community of business owners, building owners, residents, visitors, volunteers, organizations, and public and private partners. Look for updates and more information later this month. <https://mcusercontent.com/72d728eac0a891fc7cdd75517/images/9d3b489d-dfc1-1570-fa97-7bcfb221b286.png> Main Street Member Highlight Imprint Bookshop <https://ptmainstreet.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=72d728eac0a891fc7cdd75517&id=75ced26f11&e=19a6aabdc6> has been a beloved part of Port Townsend for over 50 years, offering a welcoming, general bookshop experience within the Salish Sea. We work on design projects, promote local businesses, present 20+ events each year, and coordinate the maintenance of the Uptown & Downtown rain gardens, hanging flower baskets, and pocket parks downtown. We offer low-interest loan funds to property owners for commercial building renovations and microloans to business owners to offset the financial impacts of emergencies. The work of the Port Townsend Main Street Program enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors. A Note from the Executive Director As we welcome in 2026, January ushers in a period when many businesses take a break from the busy season and refill their cup from the prior year. Port Townsend Main Street will be focusing on planning, refreshing our resources, and connecting to deepen our relationships. We are building new ways for our community to volunteer, we have updates to our membership program, and new quarterly business engagement meet-ups to name a few of new initiatives we are working on this January. Plus we are planning a great series of events which are part of our community traditions. I am excited for what’s to come in 2026, and grateful for what we accomplished in 2025. It was a year of transition and I appreciate everyone who has welcomed me to PTMS.
