Inclement Weather Conditions }

RESOLUTION NO. 52-10
WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners have established ,by
approval of the Jefferson County Personnel Administration Manual Chapter 11, Section 17 a policy
for Emergency Closures during inclement weather; and,
WHEREAS, this policy maintains that because many County services are of
primary importance during emergency conditions all employees should make every effort to report
for wok on a timely basis, however, if conditional prevail that require the curtailment of County
operations for the safety and welfare of County employees, the Board may order the curtailment of
County operations for specific departments and facilities; and,
WHEREAS, it is apparent due to severe weather conditions with snow falling
continuously since around 8 a.m. which has made Highway 20 into Port Townsend virtually
impassable and due to the prediction for high winds which will add to the treacherous conditions,
that it is in the interest of the safety and welfare of citizens and employees that County operations
that are not required for snow removal, not 24/7 operations, or not required for emergency
operation by curtailed.
NO TV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED, by the Board of County Commissioners
that the following County operations are hereby curtailed from 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November
22, 2010 through 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23,20] 0: Courthouse, all Castle Hill Offices
(Health, DCD, and Public Works Administration) and all administrativc staff in other County
Facilities.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Board authorizes the County Administrator
to make a determination as to further curtailment of these operations through this storm event.
