through the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) in an ongoing effort to expand suicide prevention services for Veterans, Service members,
and their families.
More than 80 percent of participants who complete SSG Fox SPGP services show a decrease in suicide risk and improvement in mental health status, wellbeing, social support, and financial
stability.
Now entering its fourth year, the SSG Fox SPGP strengthens the capacity of local organizations across the country to deliver Veteran-centered suicide prevention services, with a particular
aim of reaching Veterans not yet connected with VA. Funded services may include baseline mental health screenings, case management, peer support, clinical services for emergency treatment,
benefits and resource navigation, innovative approaches, culturally or spiritually integrated offerings, and more.
Funds were awarded to local organizations in 44 states – with expansion to Iowa and Minnesota – and Washington, D.C., Guam, and Puerto Rico to provide suicide prevention services in
