SUBJECT: 2026 AI Policy and Products
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Before considering adoption of the Jefferson County AI Policy, staff will introduce the draft AI Policy,which
is still being reviewed by the PAO's office. We will also introduce the preferred internal general use generative
AI product, Microsoft Copilot, as well as the AI product Darwin AI to talk about basic features, and
implementation schedule.
ANALYSIS:
This is the first presentation of the new AI policy and tools that will be available to Jefferson County
staff and the guardrails we are implementing to control and support AI use within the county.
RECOMMENDATION
Listen to the presentation, discuss and give guidance on final refinement of policy.
