Regular Meeting Minutes
Tuesday November 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
Jefferson County Courthouse—Commissioners
Chambers, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port

Members: Chair Tom Thiersch, Adam Levin,Nicole Gauthier, Steve King, and Diana Grunow
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Thiersch called the meeting to order at the appointed time. In
attendance were Members: Dudley-Nollette, Gauthier, Grunow, and King. WSF
Community and Legislative Liaison Tally Teal joined the meeting shortly after it started.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Chair Thiersch opened the floor for public comments, and no comments
were received.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Member Gauthier moved to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes
of September 10, 2025, as presented. Member Grunow seconded the motion. The motion carried.
UPDATE FROM WASHINGTON STATE FERRIES STAFF: WSF Community and
Legislative Liaison Tally Teal provided the committee with WSF updated the Committee on
Ticketing and Reservations Modernization(TRM) and will have another update in December.
Vehicle Transfer Span(VTS) upgrades are being coordinated with each community for closure
hours and dates.
WSF Community and Legislative Liaison Tally Teal excused herself from the meeting at 10:21
a.m.
GENERAL DISCUSSION
o Transit connections: Member Gauthier updated the Committee with the 2026 pilot
Sunday service and alternate routes being implemented.
o Road work affecting terminal traffic: Member King noted that traffic has decreased
except main roads coming into town, such as SR20 and Hastings Ave.
o Ferry Rider Update: Member Grunow noted the wind advisory notices for the ferry
are helpful and shared the tour she had at Eagle Harbor.
o County Budget Update: Member Dudley-Nollette updated the Committee on the
County budget not being as anticipated and increasing costs.
o Tourism: Not discussed.
o FAC Executive Committee and FAC-T meetings:
• FAC bill re: revising RCW 47.60.310: Chair Thiersch would like to work on
updating RCW 47.60.310 to benefit the thirteen FACs on equitable basis.
• BoCC letter of support to legislators: Chair Thiersch is working with local
FACs to draft letters of support to have the BoCC and Council Members sign
and send to local legislatures.
PUBLIC COMMENT: No comments were received.
CLOSING REMARKS: Chair Thiersch noted that the language for the letter of support is ready,
just awaiting a representative to move it forward.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT: Chair Thiersch adjourned the meeting at 10:44 a.m. until the next
regular or special meeting as properly noticed.
