My heart is with the people of Minnesota right now, and with communities across the country where people are experiencing violence and harm. Minnesotans are showing us what it looks
like to care for all members of our communities and to stand strong together.
Moments like these underscore why grassroots organizations are so essential. Throughout history, we have seen the deep, lasting change that can be made when people organize. Perhaps
at no point in history has grassroots organizing been more critical.

scientific evidence and upheld unanimously in federal court, that undergirds the EPA’s statutory authority and obligation to regulate greenhouse gas emissions due to the danger they
pose to our health, our communities, and our economy.
At the same time, much of the country continues to be impacted by this past weekend’s massive storm and a deep freeze plunging millions of homes into dangerous temperatures. This freeze
has further strained the grid and reminded us of the critical importance of our work to transform the country to one powered by reliable, renewable energy.
As you can see by the highlights in this Director's Notes, despite these unprecedented attacks – and because of your support – the Sierra Club is strong, nimble, and ready to meet this
moment. Together, we are mobilizing our grassroots power, advancing legal strategies, and strengthening local solutions to build out clean energy and protect the climate, our public
lands, and the communities who depend on them.
