Statement of Issue:
A request to open and read publicly submitted bids after 10:00 A.M. as indicated in the CALL
FOR BIDS for Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for Bituminous Surface Treatment.
Analysis/Strategic Goals:
The Board has issued Call for Bids for the above services and materials. Bid invitations have
been duly advertised in accordance with competitive bidding requirements.
Fiscal Impact:
Purchase of materials for Bituminous Surface Treatment is included in the Department of
Public Works 2011 budget for Road Operations.
Recommendation:
The Board is requested to have said submitted bids opened and read publicly, have the
Public Works Department review and check bids received and provide recommendations to the
Board at a later date.

CALL FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, State of
Washington, will receive SEALED BIDS for:
SUPPLY OF LIQUID ASPHALT PRODUCTS FOR BITUMINOUS
SURFACE TREAMENT FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2011
Bids will be received up until the hour of 9:30 a.m. Monday, Januarv 24, 2011, at the office of
the County Commissioners, basement floor of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jetlerson
Street, P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, Washington, 98368. Sealed bids will be opened and read
publicly at 10:00 a.m., or shortly after, on the same day at the Jefferson County Commissioners
Chambers, basement floor of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
This bid is for the supply of liquid asphalt products for use by the Jefferson County Department of
Public Works in the annual chip seal maintenance program on various county roadways. Bids shall
be submitted in accordance with the provisions of the bid documents which can be obtained from:

It will be the sole responsibility of the bidder to ensure bids are in the possession of the Board of
County Commissioners by the appointed date and time. No facsimile bid documents will be
accepted. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all proposals
and to accept the proposals deemed most advantageous to Jcflerson County and to waive all
informalities in the bidding.
