February 7,2011 Bid Award for Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for Year 2011 To: Agenda Date: Subject: Statement of Issue: Public Works staff has completed checking liquid asphalt supply bids opened on January 24, 2011. Public Works finds it to be in the County's best interest to award a Purchase a: Sale Agreement to Albina Asphalt of Vancouver, WA at the amounts specified in their bid. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: Bid Award is consistent with goal #1 (a) (i.) in that it provides for maintenance of road infrastructure. This product is used in the County's pavement preservation program. FiscallmpactlCost Benefit Analysis: Purchase for these materials is accounted for in the 2011 Road Maintenance Budget. Estimated Purchase a: Sale Agreement amount: $302,675; however, there is no guaranteed minimum order with the supplier. (This is a supply contract) Recommendation: The Board is asked to award a Purchase a: Sale Agreement as recommended and direct Public Works to process the Purchase 6: Sale Agreement documents with the supplier.
