I am writing to object to the siting of a new transfer station near SR19 and SR104. Creating a 34 mile round trip from Port Townsend is a terrible idea. And from Port Hadlock it is
a 26 mile round trip increase. Locating the new station so far away is not environmentally sound.
Furthermore, there will be more illegal dumping by people who cannot be bothered to go the extra distance. Has the cost for the additional clean-up been factored in?
Why not expand the transfer station at its current site? There’s a massive amount of space there.
Thanks for taking these important factors into consideration.
