Petitioners acknowledge that the county may impose conditions on the approval of the petition including, but not limited to, retention of easements within the vacated area for the construction, repair, and maintenance of public utilities and services and/or for trail or pathway purposes. PETITIONERS NOTE: A majority of owners of the frontage of the subject right-of-way must sign this petition and provide all the requested information. Spouses or cotenants may each sign the petition. ACKNOWLEDGMENT By signing below, the Principal Petitioner hereby acknowledges that, pursuant to RCW 36.87.120 and Jefferson County Code 12.10.120, he or she shall be responsible for compensating Jefferson County for the vacated right-of-way, if the County approves the vacation. Unless alternative compensation is accepted by the Board of County Commissioners, compensation for the vacation of dedicated rights -of -way (e.g., platted rights -of -way) shall be based on fifty percent (50%) of the appraised fair market value of the property; compensation of the full (100%) appraised fair market value of the property shall be required for rights -of -way acquired by the County other than by dedication (e.g., usage roads, fee simple title). The Principal Petitioner further acknowledges that, regardless of the County's approval or denial of the request, he or she shall be responsible for compensating the County for all expenses, in excess of the fee paid at the time of the application, incurred in the processing of said petition. Nothing shall prevent the Principal Petitioner from obtaining monies from other persons owning frontage on the subject right- of-way to satisfy the fees and costs associated with the vacation request.
