I live in Port Townsend. Last time I checked my property tax bill I actually paid more to the county than to the city of Port Townsend. What I mean is that I should have access to the
same county services as anyone else in the county. I object to the siting of a new transfer station near SR19 and SR104. Creating a 34 mile round trip from Port Townsend is a terrible
idea. There is so much space at the current site. Why not build the new facility there?
The proposed site is no-where near the population center of East Jefferson County, so it is clear that assessments of where to locate failed to adequately weight for actual East Jefferson
population centers.
