Commissioners, We are reaching out with an exciting update on WSAC’s new employee benefits program, which is 100% focused on helping our members address the escalating costs of employee health & welfare plans. We have listened to our membership and heard a clear message: the rising cost of healthcare is placing a significant strain on county budgets. To meet this challenge together, we ask that your team consider a proposal from our WSAC County-specific employee benefit program. Over the last 9 months, we have been speaking with insurers across the state to gauge interest in partnering with WSAC and our members. We are pleased to confirm that we have significant carrier interest and are ready to move forward with the proposal stage. The WSAC program offers several strategic advantages over typical county benefit offerings, including exclusive group purchasing power and greater plan design flexibility. Most importantly, early modeling shows the potential for cost savings for both the county and employees, helping you contain rising healthcare expenses without compromising coverage. This program is unique because it is available only to WA counties and has been designed with your specific needs in mind. We know how important a competitive benefits package is to help you attract and retain your workforce. At the end of the day, it is our job to show you the potential savings a WSAC program can deliver, and we believe this new program will help your county. To provide a proposal, we just need some basic information about your current program. Data Needed: * 2026 Employee Benefits Guide, Link to Employee Benefit Website, or New Hire Benefits education materials * If you do not issue a benefits guide, employee benefit summaries provided to you by your insurance carrier will also work. * Current 2026 rates for each benefit plan that you offer, i.e., medical/dental/vision/life, etc. If the employee, employer, and total rates are already listed in the benefit guide, we can pull them from there. * Employee Census (template attached) * The attached template is a guideline, but a separate Excel document generated by your system will work, provided it contains all the required data fields. * IMPORTANT – please list all dependents covered under the medical plan in a row beneath the employee who covers them. Dependents are required on the census to finalize a proposal. * Complete a short questionnaire at this link (3-5 min to complete): WSAC Benefit Questions – Fill out the form. <https://forms.cloud.microsoft/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=jF8HG-3n1UKQQit71Szsi-1ktJRx 8D9FmEZJYQCHSjFUQkpHUk1MOEEyTTZXV0gyWlpMSzNEWDk1WS4u&route=shorturl> Once the attached is received, we will: 1. Provide a proposal for consideration. 2. Meet with you and your team to review the comparison of our program to your current benefit program. 3. If interested in continuing the conversation, work with your team to establish next steps. While it may seem a bit early to be thinking about your next benefit renewal, taking action early on your benefits renewal delivers stronger budgeting and more options for your county. We look forward to the opportunity to show you the advantages this program can offer.
