HomeMy WebLinkAbout030326 email - Waste and recyclingALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. I’m contacting you to try and convince any governing body in Jefferson county to not move forward with closing free recycling sites and to advocate against charging people for recycling at transfer stations. This will greatly increase Illegal dumping and anyone who supports the decision to close or charge for recycling is choosing an irresponsible action. I understand that recycling has become an issue and that it has become more of a cost due to contaminated recycling. There can be better options than closing sites and charging people. Maybe reach out to the county for ideas? Closing sites or charging people shouldn’t be the first option as it invites illegal dumping. This will affect how the BoCC is seen in the community, especially when reelection approaches. Voters do not want to see their county trashed. I’ve already witnessed negative attention towards this decision via social media. I don’t warrant an automated email response. Especially one that focuses on illegal dumping. I already know and follow the laws. I hate to see that people illegally dump all over this county. I already see it too often and I’ve cleaned much of it myself. Please reconsider a more responsible decision. A very concerned voter of Jefferson county, Andrew Lewis
