Dear Commissioner Dudley-Nollette,
I’m reaching out to you from the Nondrivers Alliance <http://nondrivers.org> . We’re a statewide organization that advocates for better transit service and walkable, rollable communities
across our state.
We’re thankful to our elected leaders who serve on transit boards. We recognize how important your service is to ensure we have transit systems that allow those of who rely on bus and
paratransit to get around our communities. Thank you!
The core of our mission is to help elected officials understand the experience of their constituents who can’t drive or can’t afford to drive. The Week Without Driving <http://weekwithoutdriving.org>
is our primary tool for achieving this goal as a way to start the conversation around what we need to make our communities more accessible for nondrivers.
In anticipation of this year’s Week Without Driving, we are conducting a statewide survey of transit board members to understand your current transit ridership and experiences using
the system in your community.
Could you take a minute to complete our survey <https://forms.gle/jCyf7MoCCxDbic288> ? We will be publishing responses (and indicating nonresponses) on our website on April 1.
We would also love to set up a time for a call or Zoom meeting to brainstorm with you what participation in Week Without Driving might look like for you this year. <https://weekwithoutdriving.org/par
ticipate/> We recognize that not driving for the full week might be realistic, but there are lots of other ways to join us. We can help schedule a bus trip or paratransit ride with
a nondriving constituent, and we can brainstorm with you other ideas for you to participate in the week (which will take place this year from October 1-2).
