Hold a public hearing for amending the 2011-2016 Six-Year
Transportation Improvement Program (6-yr TIP)
Statement of Issue:
Hold a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 28 for the purpose of
receiving public testimony concerning amendment of the 2011-2016 Jefferson County
Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program (6-yr TIP). Attached is the proposed
adoption resolution.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pros ft Cons:
The Board adopted the 2011-2016 6-yr TI P on October 18, 2010 th rough Resolution 45-
10. To enable the acquisition of $925,000 of federal funds awarded to Jefferson
County through the County Road Safety Program 2010, a Run-Off-Road & Intersection
Safety Project needs to be added to the current TIP. Adding a project to the TIP
requires a hearing, which has been duly noticed.
Fiscal Impact/Cost-Benefit Analysis:
Amending the TIP at this time will put the County in a position to receive federal
county road safety funds to make safety improvements on County major and minor
collectors between now and end of 2013.
Recommendation:
Enact the attached resolution in order to amend the current TIP as proposed by staff.

RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, Jetferson County, Stote of Washington, adopted
the 2011-2016 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program on October 18,2010 through Resolution No.
45-10, after having consulted the priority programs, the bridge condition report, and conducted a hearing,
and:
WHEREAS, the opportunity exists to receive federal safety progmm funds for impottant safety
improvements on major and minor collectors in the County road systcm, and;
WHEREAS, in order to be eligible for this funding, the project must be included in the current
Transportation Improvemcnt Program;
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Boord of County Commissioners, having considered
inclusion of the proposed project to the adopted program, do approve and adopt the amcnded 2011-2016
Six-Year Transportotion Improvement Program, which shall include the addition of the Run-On~Road &
Intersection Safety Project.
ADOPTED and signed this 28'h day offebruary 2011.
