To the Board of County Commissioners,
I fully support a ban on fireworks in our communities. I used to love a firework show when they were a once a year event put on by professionals who took all of the necessary safety
precautions. It was a special event that the community would gather together to enjoy. Nowadays, everyone just blasts them off in their backyards with no regard to neighbors, animals
or safety. It sounds and often looks like a war zone, especially when the inevitable fires start. In 2025, we lost over 20,000 acres of our beloved Olympic forests to human caused wildfires.
Extreme droughts are becoming more and more common. It's a recipe for complete disaster and there is absolutely no need to allow people to further destroy our landscape for a few minutes
of excitement.
Thank you for your time,
Greg Sachs
