Call to Order: Chairman Taylor called the meeting to order called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.
in the presence of Member Mark McCauley, Chief Examiner Sarah Melancon, and Secretary Kristen
Bennett in person with Jamie Aumock, Sheriff Confidential Secretary via Zoom.
Public Comment: No comments received.
Approval of Minutes: Member McCauley Motioned to approve the meeting Minutes from July 22,
2025, and October 28th, 2025, as presented. Chairman Taylor seconded the Motion. The Motion
carried.
New Business:
1. Establishment of the 2026 Regular Meeting calendar: It was agreed that the meeting schedule for
2026 would continue to be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month throughout the year.
Member McCauley Motioned to approve. Chairman Taylor seconded the Motion. The Motion
carried.
2. Discussion on the transition from Zoom to Microsoft Teams for hybrid meetings in 2026:
Secretary Bennett discussed the benefits of transition from ZOOM to Microsoft Teams for hybrid
meetings beginning in 2026. Chairman Tayor motioned to approve. Member McCauley seconded
the Motion. The Motion carried.
3. Discussion of the County Budget, its impact on the CSC Budget, and the Sheriff’s Department:
Chief Examiner and Human Resources Director Sarah Melancon discussed the budget cuts to the
Civil Service Commission’s budget. The Sheriff’s Confidential Secretary outlined the potential
impact of these reductions on the Sheriff’s Office, including the possibility of not filling vacant
positions and implementing a reduction in force. Further discussion will take place once the final
budget is established in mid-December.
4. Possible cancellation of the December 23rd Meeting: Chairman Taylor Motioned to cancel the
December meeting. Member McCauley seconded the motion to approve, acknowledging the
potential need for further discussion regarding future budget actions.
