Dear County Commissioners,
My name is Katherine Bombardier. I’m a local mother, nurse, and community member. I am attending the county commissioners meeting today via Zoom and would like to express my concern
about the proposed budget cuts that would only hurt local youth. We need to explore all other options rather than making a rash decision.
Two such options include a) sharing more information about the fund that exists that would allow people to donate to maintain these programs and/or b) maintain the programs for 2026
with a plan to partner with the City of Port Townsend to create a Parks and Rec department that can draw on both budgets.
I want to be clear: voting in favor of these budget cuts would be a detriment to the future of this community’s lifeblood and wellbeing. Please consider all other options and support
our parks and rec programs!!!
