Dear Jefferson County Board of Commisioners,
I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed year-round consumer fireworks ban being discussed on March 25.
Fireworks present several significant concerns for our community, including the distress they cause to pets and individuals with PTSD, as well as their disruptive impact on wildlife.
Furthermore, they pose a serious risk of fires that can destroy property and wildlands, placing an unnecessary burden on our public firefighting resources. Additionally, the resulting
air and water pollution outweighs the momentary entertainment value they provide to a few people.
