Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. Please forward this as a Public Comment to the members of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). BTW, I noticed that the email address for public comments to the LTAC is not listed on the web page for that committee https://www.co.jefferson.wa.us/1394/Lodging-Tax-Advisory-Council-LTAC Also, it's a committee, not a "council", per RCW, so the page link should probably be updated to reflect that. Given the Port's role in economic development, I thought the attached study, commissioned by the legislature, would be of interest to you. It's hard to compare this to the Hovee study which the Port financed a few years ago; however, this more recent report provides a more detailed per-route analysis of economic impact. An interesting approach is how impact was distributed on the PT-CV route (WSF Route 70), with 75% allocated to Jefferson County, 25% to Island County. I'm also forwarding a copy of the report to the city's LTAC and the county's LTAC and Tourism Coordinating committees.
