I am grateful that our community has stepped up to give funds to keep the community center open in Port Townsend until the end of 2026. It does not solve the sustainability challenge
but it gives room to find more solutions.
We have clearly failed to structure to support our parks that support us, families, adults, retirees, tourists, our nature loving economy.
As we and you work for a structure that sustains our parks, I would ask that the lodging and hospitality committee consider one time measures as well to help keep our parks available
and open to public use this year. Let’s work together with a focus to parks and recreation. As each of us use our parks and centers this year, what steps can we can take while we are
there to keep them clean, attractive and available to all?
