As a member of the Global Earth Repair Convergence <https://www.globalearthrepairconvergence.com/> local planning team, I wanted to invite you to attend the upcoming convergence, at
Fort Worden on May 7-11. We are very fortunate that there are worldwide experts coming to Port Townsend to present on regenerative farming, carbon sequestration, agroforestry, ocean
regeneration, and more. It also includes a track on Indigenous Leadership and Traditional Knowledge. And I am happy to share that former commissioner Kate Dean will be presenting as
part of a panel on "Policy Changes to Increase Carbon Sequestration and Reduce Flooding in Pacific Northwest Temperate Rainforest". Other presenters include folks like John D. Liu,
a filmmaker and ecologist, who founded Ecosystem Restoration Camps to advance large-scale ecosystem restoration globally, and Didi Pershouse, founder of the Land and Leadership Initiative,
who is an author and educator focused on soil health, climate resilience, and regenerative leadership, among many other internationally known presenters. You can find out more at the

I attended the conference back in 2019, and it really opened my eyes to the possibilities of land based restoration activities to both sequester carbon and restore ecosystems. It was
interesting that at the time the IPCC was downplaying such approaches. We are really fortunate that such an international conference is happening in our backyard!
