Call to Order: Chairman Taylor called the meeting to order called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.
in the presence of Member Mark McCauley, Chief Examiner Sarah Melancon, Secretary Kristen
Bennett, Lindsay Gonzalez in person with Rob Farris and Roni Emerson via Teams.
Public Comment: No comments received.
Approval of Minutes: Member McCauley Motioned to approve the meeting Minutes from
November 25th, 2025, as presented. Chairman Taylor seconded the Motion. The Motion carried.
New Business:
1. Remembering Ken Przygocki, Civil Service Commission Member 2017-2025: A moment of silence
and remembrance was taken.
2. Update on advertisement of Civil Service Commission Member vacant position: Secretary
Bennett discussed the advertisement placement in December via the county Facebook page, as
well as two PT Leader advertisements placed on February 25 and March 11. There are currently no
letters of interest submitted. The advertisement will be placed on the Facebook page again.
3. Corrections Sergeant Promotional Examination: Chief Examiner Melancon presented the
upcoming Corrections Sergeants exam schedule and outlined the development of the
examination. The Commission was asked to formally approve the test scoring procedures,
consisting of a 50% weighting for the written exam and 50% for the oral board. Member McCauley
Motioned to approve. Chairman Taylor seconded the Motion. The Motion carried.
4. Undersheriff Przygocki requests consideration of lowering the minimum age for Corrections
Deputies from 21 to 18: Discussion was held regarding the viability of hiring Deputies and
Corrections officers under the age of 21. It was decided that additional research is needed, and the
matter was tabled until the next regular meeting.
