Run-Off-Road f1: Intersection Safety Project (CR1886):
(1) Resolution, (2) Project Prospectus, (3) Local Agency Agreement
Statement of Issue:
A Resolution is required to create County Road project CR1886 for the purpose of completing
various safety improvements to multiple collectors in the County road system. The Project
Prospectus and Local Agency Agreement with the Washington State Department of Transportation
(WSDOT) are required in order to secure Federal funds.
Analysis/Statemc Goals/Pros & Cons:
This project is a new item number 26 on the 2011-2016 Six-Year Transportation Improvement
Program pursuant to an amending Resolution adopted February 28, 2011. Jefferson County has
been awarded Federal funding through the 2010 County Road Safety Program. The project consists
of upgrading traffic signs, adding or replacing guardrails and end treatments, upgrading guide
posts, installing transverse rumble strips, installing warning beacons, and improving crosswalks.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
The estimated total cost of this project is $925,000, which is provided at 100% Federal funding
through the 2010 County Road Safety Program. Funds must be expended by the end of 2013.
Recommendation:
Sign the attached Resolution (1 original), Project Prospectus (3 originals) and Local Agency
Agreement (3 originals). Return a copy of the signed Resolution to Public Works for the project file
and all of the signed originals of the Project Prospectus and Local Agency Agreement to Public
Works for further processing (attn: Josh Peters). Upon execution by WSDOT, originals of the Project
Prospectus and Local Agency Agreement will be provided for the Commissioners' files.
