Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. We live in Quilcene and strongly support a year-round fireworks ban. These past few years have exploded the use of military-grade fireworks. Our houses literally shake. Our pets and people are traumatized. This lasts for long weekends during the Fourth of July and New Year's celebrations. Total fire bans during the Fourth seem to have little effect on the fireworks. We are frightened of fire. When we bought our wooded property 35 years ago, summer fires weren't a concern. Now the concern is how we pay for fire insurance premiums. We know that we are not alone in believing that climate change has affected our woods. It only takes one firework to start a fire. The clearest and safest solution is a total fireworks ban for the county. Clearly, we do not feel that a fireworks ban in the South County would be "stepping on us." Instead, a ban would mean that our concerns have finally been heard. We believe that many, if not most people in District 3 would support the ban. Thank you for your time and consideration.
