Because committee Democrats have been so successful at forcing – and winning – votes on subpoenas, Republicans are no longer holding hearings, all to avoid bringing in folks to testify under oath about the Epstein files. Democrats aren’t entertaining their dog and pony show “roundtables,” but we’re still busy securing wins. Last week, I co-led and introduced TWO bills (more on those below⬇️) and met with dozens of neighbors from the 6th district who traveled to D.C. to advocate for our ports, rural hospitals, and small businesses. Republicans are terrified by Democrats using the little power that we have as the minority * party, they’re doing everything they can to prevent us from bringing in MORE Trump officials to testify under oath. * This is unacceptable. The Forest Service also lost 9,000 workers that preserve trails and keep our public lands accessible. * We want to make sure places like Olympic National Park can continue to welcome millions of visitors, but attacking and shrinking our federal workforce makes it harder when workers are stretched so thin. Rangers are now performing two, sometimes three jobs just to make sure trails are maintained, bathrooms get cleaned, and trash cans emptied.
