As the newly re-opened Museum of Art + History and Rothschild House continue to welcome visitors from throughout the community and beyond, our programs are doing what they do best: bringing
people together.
From walking tours that explore Port Townsend's layered past to hands-on activities and special events, our programs offer unique ways to connect with history, with art, and with one
another.

Vanishing Murals Walking Tours — June
Explore the “ghost murals” that once lined downtown Port Townsend's streetscape, many of which are still visible today, advertising everything from shoes to cigars. These visual artifacts
offer a vivid window into the town's bustling late 19th-century and early 20th-century life.

Legends + Lore Walking Tours — July & August
Drawing from some of the more infamous, mysterious, and salacious stories in Port Townsend's history, this tour takes a fun and analytical meander through Port Townsend's picturesque
downtown district, offering participants a glimpse into how documents, photos, physical evidence, and oral histories all play into how we discern fact from fiction.

History Hikes — June, July & September
Each year, the North Olympic History Center and JCHS team up to offer guided hikes at historically significant sites around the North Olympic Peninsula. Led by NOHC Executive Director
David Brownell, these popular hikes offer small-group walks that explore significant sites across the Olympic Peninsula:
June 20: Port Williams / Marlyn Nelson County Park
July 18: Qatáy Prairie and Lagoon
September 19: Dungeness & “3 Crabs”

Stories from the Rothschild House Presentation — July 22 | 6PM - 7:15PM
Whether you've visited the Rothschild House or are new to its history, this is a chance to go a little deeper. Join us on Wednesday, July 22 at the Cotton Building for an intimate look
