What We Heard
PECC leadership has taken time to sit with what we heard in the meeting, and a few key takeaways include:
* The Peninsulas region needs better coordination and visibility of resources—something PECC can support—but the preferred engagement platform is not yet known.
* PECC needs a crisp overview for purpose alignment and clear member communication.
* Understanding ways members can engage is helpful, but shouldn’t be overly structured, to allow flexibility and avoid spending extra time on it.
* Community voice is important, but it needs a clear path to action. PECC leadership should ensure we circle back after input requests to share actions taken.
What We’re Doing Next
* Exploring ways to match topics with members’ interests so outreach feels more relevant – member sign-up coming soon
* Creating flexible ways for members to engage depending on capacity – adjusted overview coming soon
* Exploring options for voice leads to gather input and take action – paid and unpaid options coming soon
* Piloting a “what we heard → what we did” feedback loop, including in meetings and emails
May 8: Child Care Provider Appreciation Day
Please remember to thank your community’s local child care providers on May 8—Child Care Provider Appreciation Day—and every day. Efforts across the community to spread the word and
encourage grassroots participation are a huge help. The Peninsulas need more dedicated providers to meet child care demand, and showing appreciation and support is an important part
of that. In our May 12 meeting, we'll talk more about child care provider appreciation, and how we can all continue momentum throughout the month of May - and beyond.
