Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of OlyCAP, Olympic Community Action Partnership :::
WHEREAS, Olympic Community Action Partnership, known as OlyCAP,was founded in 1966 as a
nonprofit community action agency dedicated to combating poverty, expanding opportunity, and improving
the quality of life for residents of Clallam and Jefferson counties; and
WHEREAS, for 60 years, OlyCAP has helped people build resilient communities by providing
access to solutions and opportunities that support stability, self-sufficiency, and community well-being; and
1 WHEREAS, OlyCAP has served generations of local residents through programs including early °'
childhood education, energy assistance, weatherization, housing services, food and nutrition support, youth
services, senior-focused services, emergency shelter, supportive housing, and community resource
navigation; and
WHEREAS, OlyCAP's work has strengthened the health, safety, and well-being of Jefferson

County by helping families remain housed, reducing energy insecurity, supporting children and parents,

assisting older adults and people with disabilities, and connecting vulnerable residents to essential resources;
and
WHEREAS, in partnership with Jefferson County, OlyCAP manages community centers that .
provide social, recreational, educational, and emergency-service opportunities for residents, reflecting the
agency's long-standing commitment to rural access and community connection; and
WHEREAS, OlyCAP has collaborated for six decades with local governments, tribal partners,
nonprofits, schools, businesses, volunteers, funders, and community members to address poverty, respond to
local needs, and build pathways toward stability and opportunity; and
WHEREAS, May 10, 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of OlyCAP, a milestone reflecting six
decades of service,partnership, resilience, and commitment to the people of Jefferson and Clallam counties;
and
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners
hereby recognizes and honors OlyCAP, Olympic Community Action Partnership, on the occasion of its 60th
Anniversary and expresses deep appreciation for its enduring commitment to strengthening individuals,
families, and communities throughout the Olympic Peninsula, and hereby proclaims May 10, 2026 as

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners encourages
all County residents to join in recognizing OlyCAP's 60 years of service and its ongoing role in supporting
resilient, connected, and thriving communities.
