Spotlight May 1-15
New KPTZ Performance Studio
I am so pleased to announce that the KPTZ performance studio is in its last stage of completion. It was the final frontier of our Fort Worden Space and through the incredible work of
our volunteers and staff over the last few months we have been able to purchase and then hang acoustic panels, configure the sound, and begin planning the incredible ways to use the
space.
KPTZ has always been cozy and proud of it but we're all very excited to be able to host bands in a space where they can actually all fit!
Thank you to everyone who has helped with the performance studio over the years, from the first imaginingings of the space before we moved in to the those who helped our first test run
broadcast last week.

Cats in Our Laps

Cats in Our Laps is a variety show in the tradition of the early days of radio when radio was a local resource for live music, community news, and neighborhood gatherings, just like
KPTZ is today.
May 3
Cats in Our Laps brings composer and pianist Linda Dowdell as featured artist. A frequent collaborator on Key City Public Theatre musicals, Linda will bring recordings of her music as
well as engaging conversation. For the 9:00 hour, the beloved Ruby Fitch returns to KPTZ as Cats in Our Laps guest DJ. Actress and humorist Autumn Sutton will be at the reader’s podium.

Featured artists are Bobbi Nikles and Jere Canote on fiddle and guitar, respectively. Dean Miller of the Faux Paws talks of the group in anticipation of their upcoming Rainshadow concert
at the Palindrome. Expect also a few woofs from cast members of Key City Public Theatre’s Bark, the Musical”. From the reader’s podium, Owen Rowe reads a recent translation of a novel
or essay of his choice. Expect kink.
