A multi-day gathering designed to spark collaboration, strengthen relationships, and imagine a thriving, connected future together. The weekend kicked off on Friday, March 27th with a Youth Summit (for Jefferson County high schoolers) and Long Story Short (a live, community storytelling event). On Saturday morning in the Commons, over 130 community organizations were on display to view during our Town Square. Of those organizations, 20+ had interactive exhibits designed to connect people to resources in the community, build skills, or deepen relationships with others. In the afternoon, we had two rounds of workshops hosted by local community members and government agencies. Explored the Fort Worden Campus. KPTZ 91.9, PT School of Woodworking, Marine Science Center, and the Point Wilson Lighthouses are hosting Open Houses and tours! That evening, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, was our Gift Making Extravaganza. We had over a dozen local artists hosting craft-making experiences, live music, and a big community dinner. The following morning was our Sunday Social. Doors opened for local pastries, coffee, and more. There was a cold plunge, live music, guided meditation, and other activities in the until high noon when we celebrated the end of the weekend and loaded the Party Ark! SYNOPSIS OF COMMUNITY FEEDBACK The Connectivity Summit was widely viewed as an ambitious, creative, and meaningful community gathering that successfully fostered connections across students, organizations, local government, artists, nonprofits, and residents. Participants consistently praised the welcoming atmosphere, strong networking opportunities, and the event’s ability to spark conversations and partnerships that rarely happen in other settings. Saturday’s layout and flow were especially well received, while Saturday night’s music, crafting, and community energy reflected the Summit’s potential to become a signature regional gathering. Across the weekend, attendees highlighted valuable collaborations, emerging partnerships, and increased momentum between organizations and community initiatives. At the same time, feedback revealed opportunities to strengthen clarity, structure, and participation. Many participants noted that the Summit’s broad scope sometimes made it difficult to understand who the event was for or what each component was intended to accomplish. Attendance and engagement varied across the weekend, and several respondents emphasized the need for clearer communication, earlier planning timelines, and more targeted outreach. Schools and partner organizations specifically requested earlier coordination around transportation, scheduling, agendas, and expectations to improve participation and preparedness. The Youth Summit generated some of the strongest and most actionable feedback. Informal, relationship-based activities—such as games, prizes, youth voices on the microphone, social spaces, and playful interactions—were highly successful in capturing student attention and participation. Many also felt the structure could be improved through shorter sessions, more simultaneous activities, and clearer pathways for different age groups and interests. Participants emphasized that authentic engagement, peer interaction, and hands-on experiences are essential for maintaining youth attention and creating meaningful outcomes. Overall, the feedback reflects strong belief in the Connectivity Summit’s value and future potential. Participants repeatedly described the event as unique, inspiring, and worth continuing to invest in. The clearest path forward includes clarifying the event narrative, improving logistical coordination, creating more personalized engagement pathways, and building stronger year-round continuity between schools, organizations, and community partners.
