Since the day the Trump administration took office, they have pushed to sell off and sell-out public lands across the country by repealing conservation policies and firing agency personnel.
Our national forests are the heart of our public land. The Roadless Area Conservation Rule, which is one of the single most important protections for public lands, is being repealed.
It protects almost 60 million acres of undeveloped national forest and grasslands from road building, and the logging and mining that come with that.
Simultaneously, the administration is taking an axe to the US Forest Service itself. Many of the local research stations will be shuttered and consolidated, regional office spaces are
slated to be sold, and headquarters will be moved from Washington, DC to Salt Lake City, UT.

Right now, we are in an historic moment and we are fighting for the future of our public lands.
For 25 years, the Roadless Area Conservation Rule (also called the "Roadless Rule") has stood quietly as one of the most consequential public lands conservation policies in history,
protecting the wildest parts of our national forests.
The Roadless Rule conserves nearly 60 million acres of undeveloped tracts of forest and grasslands across the country. Creating this policy -- and the robust public engagement process
that went with it -- was arguably the best idea the Forest Service had in its history.
