HomeMy WebLinkAbout051826 email - PRESS RELEASE_ Jefferson County Announces Request for Proposals for 2027–2028 Behavioral Health Community GrantThe Jefferson County Board of Commissioners announces the availability of 1/10th of 1% sales tax funds for community grants for 2027 and 2028.
This grant opportunity is intended to maintain, create, or enhance local services and programs overseen by the Jefferson County Behavioral Health Advisory Committee. Funding for this
program comes from the Jefferson County 1/10th of 1% sales and use tax designated for behavioral health programs, including mental health and substance use disorder services.
Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026. Completed Request for Proposal (RFP) responses should be emailed to amartine@co.jefferson.wa.us <mailto:amartine@co.jefferson.wa.us>

Contracts will be awarded for a 24-month term and may fund:
* Substance use disorder and mental health treatment programs
* Co-occurring disorder treatment services
* Prevention and early intervention programs
* Therapeutic court programs
* Related behavioral health support services
Programs and services may include, but are not limited to, prevention and early intervention services, treatment services, case management, transportation, and housing that are components
of a coordinated substance use disorder or mental health treatment program or service, as authorized under RCW 82.14.460.
Any potential contract renewal will be at the sole discretion of the Board of County Commissioners, and renewals are not guaranteed.
Programs will be evaluated based on contract compliance, demonstrated effectiveness of services through internal and community-based evaluation methods, and funding stability. Awarded
funds may not supplant other available funding sources or billing mechanisms for similar services. Funding levels are not guaranteed to remain the same in future years, and receipt
of this award does not guarantee future contract opportunities.
