Commissioners,
Our Tribe is working with our Congresswoman Emily Randall and Senator Maria Cantwell introduce legislation that Transfers the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Dungeness and Protection Island
Refuges to Jamestown trust/reservation. I’m attaching a draft suggest support letter as well as a draft copy of the proposed legislation, map and white paper that outlines our proposal.
You’ll see that in the legislation we preserve the 1915 Executive Order and statute that established the Refuges and their conservation purpose for bird & wildlife and habitat. Any
questions, don’t hesitate to call or contact us for clarifications.
I’m cc’ing Hansi Hals (our Tribal Natural Resource Director), Julie Combs (our attorney who help draft the legislation). And Jennifer is our Tribe’s Governmental Affairs Associate.
Thanks, Ron
