good afternoon commissioners
I would like to draw your attention towards the idea of a local, government operated bank. This bank - run by and for the local community - will store government funds and ensure appropriate
liquidity, ensure access to low interest credit for government bonds or other debt for schools, parks, infrastructure, other other needs; provide real interest on stored government
funds, and buy loans on areas of public interest (like housing) that will enhance our local community.
To this end, the establishment of a regional bank, operated jointly by Clallam and Jefferson counties (and potentially additional regional partners such Kitsap or Greys Harbor counties)
as a public development authority, that operates as a wholesale bank to minimize costs and overhead, can ensure that local funds get invested into local projects, and local assets remain
local.

looking through SB5754 (https://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/2025-26/Pdf/Bills/Senate%20Bills/5754.pdf#page=1) to see a bill designed to implement a statewide version of this same
structure.
thanks for your consideration on this issue
