Dear Mr. Bryant
Our records show and the permit indicates that this office was never called
for a final inspection of Building Permit #2105 . [VIOLATION]
The home was sold to a Mr. & Mrs . Elmer Fullenwider by a Century Real
Estate salesman named Michael Gutsche without a Certificate of Occupaney. [VIOLATION]
Mr. Fullensider came to my office on July 31 , 1978 complaining about faulty
and unfinished work after he purchased and moved into the house without a
Certificate of Occupancy. [VIOLATION]
I called for a final inspection on afternoon of same day and encountered the
following items to be corrected or finished .
1 . Garage:
(a) Provide finish window and door casings
(b) Door from garage to home is not equipped with a self closing devise and
needs a striker assembly adjustment.
(c) Two garage doors have excessive gaps at base that should be eliminated,
(d) Conceal large gaps around furnace ducts from garage to the recreation room.
2 . EXTERIOR:
(a) Secure dangling porch post to concrete deck
(b) Remove form nails from jamb of front door
(c) Make necessary correction to secure exterior siding that has pulled away
from joints and caulk all exposed joints of exterior siding
(d) Provide screens for porch deck soffit bent openings
(e) Conceal large edge opening at southeast porch deck soffit
(f) Caulk around all windows and doors
(g) Provide grade footings under bearing posts on deck slab at south end
(h) Provide splash blocks at all downspouts .
3 . INTERIOR:
(a) Needs a threshold under door to house from basement

(b) Weather seal between base of front entrance double doors where daylight
can be seen
(c) Provide a piece of trim at base of stairway under handrailing
(d) Provide door stops for all interior doors
(e) Sand rough finish trim and conceal all finish nails
(f) Change closet knobs to proper location
(g) Properly conceal and adjust shower sliding door at base where water leaks
through
(h) Provide an exhaust duct over cooking range and vent to outside atmoshpere
(i) Provide an exhaust fan in basement bathroom and vent to outside atmosphere .
Please make the required corrections and completions and notify this office
when all items have been resolved.
