The Council invites your comments and suggestions on these draft ideas for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of clean energy siting and permitting in Washington.
A 30-day comment period on the draft recommendations starts today and ends at 11:59 p.m. on June 28, 2026.

Each year, the Council creates a report for the Governor and Legislature with recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of clean energy siting and permitting. The
recommendations were informed by previous online forums with tribes and interested parties in December 2025 and April 2026.
The Council includes 13 state agencies and is co-chaired by the Washington State Departments of Ecology and Commerce. It does not make decisions on individual projects.
