It's hard to be patient - especially when trails are involved! We know. We get it. Here's the problem. People are getting hurt riding (or running or walking or rolling) on sections of the trail that aren't officially opened yet. In Jefferson County, the Milo Curry trailhead to Anderson Lake State Park (pictured above) has not been opened for use. Signs, fencing, and notices have been removed by vandals. Jefferson County has had to replace fencing and notices multiple times. It is not safe to be on these trails. There are several safety items that will be installed this summer. The section through Anderson Lake State Park is not scheduled for construction until later this month and is not expected to be available for use until September. The construction will take place from June 15, 2026 to August 31, 2026. The work also includes paving the entrance road, ADA parking, new restrooms, equestrian area improvements, and the new extension of the Olympic Discovery Trail. Read more about Anderson Lake State Park <https://us.list-manage.com/15MUKYSzsar?e=ec6d6bb2eb&c2id=4b019dc0600d6fc7b84c515f2b6230e6> . We recommend trail users who want to travel west from the Milo Curry trailhead use the Jefferson County Transit bus route to connect westward to either Discovery Bay or Diamond Point Trailheads. The ribbon cutting is tentatively scheduled for September and you will definitely be invited! Thank you for your patience. <https://mcusercontent.com/862004159972503fe35fefc93/images/53b75053-55a6-781b-effc-3af7885f9608.jpeg> Join the Friends of the East Jefferson Trails Connection <https://us.list-manage.com/1137jybDmtB?e=ec6d6bb2eb&c2id=4b019dc0600d6fc7b84c515f2b6230e6> on Thursday, June 11 at 9:00 a.m. to learn about trail projects.
