June offers multiple opportunities to recognize service members, Veterans, and their families, including the Army's birthday, Women Veterans Recognition Day, and the anniversary of the
Allied invasion of Normandy, France, now known as D-Day. National PTSD Awareness Day is also observed in June with the intent of encouraging open talk about PTSD, its causes, symptoms,
and getting help for the condition.

VA initiative strengthens care coordination
The Veteran Interoperability Pledge (VIP) is a nationwide initiative that allows VA and participating community providers to securely exchange information to assist in the care of Veterans
receiving treatment inside and outside VA. Veterans receiving care outside of VHA’sVIP are increasingly experiencing seamless, more coordinated health care thanks to a growing initiative
that securely connects VA with community providers.

Veteran receives next-generation eye care
VA offers a wide variety of different programs that allow Veterans to receive eye care via telehealth, some which have been operational for more than 20 years. In total, VA Telehealth
has more than 700 sites of eye care and covers >85% of the VA’s network of hospitals and clinics, making it one of the largest and most robust telehealth deployments in the world.

New data shows Whole Health boosts outcomes and engagement for Veterans
Veterans are seeing meaningful improvements in their health and well-being through VA’s Whole Health services. Recent findings from several national studies show that Veterans who participate
in Whole Health experience stronger support, improved physical and mental health, and better long-term outcomes than those receiving conventional care alone. Whole Health is VA’s approach

Veterans with PTSD often avoid thinking about the trauma because it feels too stressful to manage. Avoiding things that remind you of the trauma can help you feel better in the moment,
but not in the long term. Written Exposure Therapy (WET) works by having you write the details of the trauma. By learning that you can tolerate the negative feelings that come up, you
will start to experience the memory with less distress over time. You also will find that physical responses like rapid heartbeat or sweating will decrease. And talking with your provider
about your writing sessions can help you develop new ways of thinking about the traumatic event and what it means to you.
