Jefferson County received grant funding through the federal Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant program to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan seeking to reduce fatal and serious
injury crashes to zero on roads and streets throughout Jefferson County.
The County’s SS4A Comprehensive Safety Action Plan will involve the following planning activities: Studying crash patterns, identifying safety risks, engaging the public, and developing
a prioritized list of safety improvement projects and strategies. The public will have multiple opportunities to participate in the development of the County’s Comprehensive Safety
Action Plan.
First, the County is seeking feedback on transportation safety concerns on roads within Jefferson County* through its Safety Concern Survey (linked below). We want to learn about specific
and general transportation safety concerns from the Jefferson County community. The survey is currently open and closes July 3, 2026.
The County will host public outreach events at the Chimacum Farmers Market July 26 and September 27, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Members of the public are welcome to stop by and learn about
Safety Concern Survey findings, existing conditions and crash trends in Jefferson County, and next steps. Project team staff will be present to answer questions.
An outline of the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan, including progress to date, will be presented to the County Board of Commissioners at a workshop on October 26, 2026.
